Willie Marshall, a former forward with the Toronto Maple Leafs, died today at the age of 91. He was most remembered for setting numerous AHL records, including the most goals, points, assists, hat tricks, and games played.

Legends are forever.

“The Whip” Marshall, who played hockey for the Toronto St. Michael’s Majors to start his career, went on to play 33 NHL games for the Maple Leafs. But the majority of his career was spent in the American Hockey League, where he set numerous records and won three Calder Cups.

He is remembered by the annual Willie Marshall Award, which is given to the AHL’s top goal scorer.

Marshall played 1,205 games in the AHL throughout his career, tallying 523 goals and 852 assists.
