Gvardiol will be Liverpool priority

Reporter Iomie Stanley has claimed LIVERPOOL should make Josko Gvardiol a “priority” summer signing

Over the past few seasons Gvardiol has developed into one of the most sought after young defenders in Europe and has a host of big clubs reportedly interested in his services.

It is no secret that the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City have been keeping a close eye on the player in recent months and are ready to splash the cash and try to get a transfer deal done.

However – amid all the speculation and all the rumours – Stanley has opened up and claimed Liverpool should try and get a deal done for the £70 million valued star as the injuries to Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate are presenting a problem for Jurgen Klopp’s side

Stanley told icfootballnews: “I think a new centre-back has to be a priority, especially as the club have been poor at the back this season.

“I like the starting two, Van Dijk and Konate – but I would sell Gomez as he is not at the standard that Jurgen Klopp needs him to be

“Matip can stay as cover, and Liverpool should be going out and getting Gvardiol, he is one for the future.

“He’s shown what he can do on the biggest stage at the World Cup and in the Champions League, and you can picture him next to Van Dijk or Konate.

“Liverpool need him because they’ve had such bad injury problems this season, and it’s hurt them. Van Dijk isn’t getting any younger, and eventually they will need a ready-made replacement.

Gvardiol would be a brilliant signing for LIVERPOOL and the fact that they are ready to splash the cash suggests he could be a massive signing for the Premier League giants.’
