CHELSEA target Benjamin Pavard has told Bayern Munich he will not renew his contract and is now set to leave the club, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Thomas Tuchel got the full backing of that Chelsea board over the course of the transfer window and honestly – signed some players that have made a real difference to the quality of the squad
However – there is also alot of signings that at the club that have failed to impress and that means that Mauricio Pochettino will look to add some more new faces to the squad in the summer
Pavard has developed into one of the best defenders in the Bundesliga with Bayern – and was just about persuaded to stay at Bayern in the summer window despite interest from Manchester United, CHELSEA, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid and Juventus.
Chelsea were again linked with a move in the January window – but the Frenchman opted to stay put and add another Bundeliga title to the cabinet.
But it seems that he is keen for a move away from the club, according to Fabrizio Romano, who has claimed that he has told Bayern that he will not sign a new contract.
Speaking to Telefoot earlier in the season, Pavard admitted that he was open to leaving Bayern – he said: “I questioned myself, I had calls from different clubs with my agent. Afterwards, I had the Bayern coach with whom we spoke and with whom we have a good relationship.
“He made me understand that I was in his plans, that I was important for the team. Maybe one day I will go to one of these clubs, you never know what the future holds.
“I’m still a year at Bayern Munich. Afterwards, we have time to project ourselves.”
Pavard is a top-class defender that would add to that CHELSEA side – so if he does come onto the market – the Blues should at least made an offer – he would be worth signing guys
