Here is a roundup of the top Newcastle United news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed –
NEWCASTLE UNITED target Marco Asensio will leave Real Madrid when his contract expires at the end of the season
Asensio joined Real Madrid from Real Mallorca in 2014 and has taken in 250 appearances for the Blancos – scoring over 50 goals and collecting three La Liga titles and three Champions League crowns.
However – there has been alot of speculation about his future at the club and whether or not he is part of Carlo Ancelotti’s long-term plans – which has alerted a number of top level clubs.
It is no secret that The Toon are massive fans of the man and have been linked with a move for the last few transfer windows – and it was believed that they would get a chance to sign the Spaniard at the end of the season.
Now – The Spain international will reject the club’s offer to renew his contract, according to Relevo.
Asensio’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has been in talks with Madrid since December and the club have put an offer to extend his current deal on the table, but he has reportedly decided to bring an end to his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The reports also adds that Chelsea have make contact over a possible deal
Asensio is a brilliantly gifted midfielder – there is no doubt about that and if he does come onto the market – he will be hot commodity.
He is achieving everything he has ever wanted at Madrid – and winning trophies on a yearly basis – but if he is not part of the plans at the Bernabeu, then it is time to leave.
This would be a massive statement signing from NEWCASTLE UNITED if they managed to pull this deal off
KOUNDE WANTED –
There has been some reports emerge which have claimed that NEWCASTLE UNITED. are interested in a deal for Barcelona defender Jules Kounde.
Kounde is a player that Premier League c lubs have been linked with ever since his days with Sevilla – but no-one has ever been able to convince the Frenchman that a move to the Premier League is one he needs to make.
However – Kounde’s future in Spain now looks uncertain however with Sport reporting he is unhappy with his role at Barcelona and is considering a move away this summer.
The defender has started 26 of Barcelona’s 35 league matches this term, the majority of those playing at right-back.
Kounde believes he was promised more game time in his preferred role at centre-half where Ronald Araújo and Andreas Christensen have been the manager’s preferred first-choice paring.
And with Newcastle looking to add some more quality to their ranks in the coming months -the Daily Express has claimed that they are now ready to make a move for the defender.
But despite all the speculation and the rumours – Kounde has now come out and admitted that he does not want to leave the Spanish giants.
“To be 100% clear, I’ve never asked to leave Barcelona and I’m not gonna leave the club,” he said.
“I’m not going anywhere.”
There are so many wonderful players at the Toon and NEWCASTLE UNITED. should be proud of what they have achieved this season.
But next year they need to push on – they need to sign top level, Champions League proven players that will send statements.
Kounde is a very good young defender that would improve that back-line – he may want to stay – but there is a chance that they can get a deal done
RABIOT BOOST –
Transfer guru Rudy Galetti has reported that Juventus midfielder and NEWCASTLE UNITED target Adrien Rabiot will leave for free this summer.
The Frenchman has really struggled for game time this season at Juventus, and he wants more guaranteed football at this stage of his career as he is not getting any younger
Despite being one of the most gifted central midfielders in the game – Rabiot has never really adapted to Italian football like many had hoped – and Juventus are also keen to make sure that they get his massive £7M a season wage off the books.
He is out of contract at the end of the season – and with Newcatle looking to add some more quality to the side – Rabiot is a player that is reportedly on the agenda, especially as he would be coming on a free deal
Now – Galetti has revealed that Rabiot will be leaving Juventus on a free at the end of the season.

Manchester United are also interested in a potential deal.
Rabiot is just the type of player that Eddie Howe needs to look into signing over the next few months – he really is a special player.
Now that the club are playing Champions League football – now that they have the money to make massive offers – they will be an attractive club for many top players to move too.
Rabiot has won many trophies – has played at the top level – is a man that will bring Champions League experience and could be the ideal partner for Bruno Guimaraes in the middle of the park.
It will be a big summer for NEWCASTLE UNITED – but they would be foolish to not move for Rabiot.
