Toney and Havertz all feature in Arsenal news now

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you may have missed –

Arsenal are “guaranteed” to win the Premier League if they sign Ivan Toney, according to reporter Iomie Stanley

Toney has been linked with a transfer to ARSENAL ahead of his return to football following a betting ban, as many believe that Mikel Arteta needs a striker to really compete with Man City for that title.

And Stanley believes Mikel Arteta’s side will become the best in the division with the England forward – He told IcFootballnews: “Will he go in January? I don’t know. Probably in the summer but it would be nice if he went for £80 million in January.

“When you look at the market, he’s got the best years ahead of him and I think he’s a game-changer…

Arsenal, instead of Havertz, should have bought him in August. Havertz isn’t going to make a difference to them winning the title, Ivan Toney guarantees the title and maybe they’re nearer to Manchester City.

“He is good enough to play for one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League and if he joins a side like Arsenal, an attack that Mikel Arteta has, he will score alot more goals than he has managed over the past few seasons with Brentford.’

Ivan Toney has been able to train with Brentford for a few weeks now and he must be so hungry to get back on that pitch for the Bees. But unless ARSENAL are willing to pay some serious money to get a deal done – we cant see this happening in January.

It is much more likely that Toney leaves Brentford at the end of the season, He knows the club, they have backed him 100 per cent off the pitch, his loyalty will keep him at the club in the winter.

Mikel Arteta has been sent a real warning by ARSENAL legend Paul Merson over summer signing Kai Havertz.

Havertz was the big shock signing of the summer for the Gunners after Arsenal made the decision to bring him across London in a deal that cost the club just £65 million.

Kai Havertz

Havertz has endured a difficult start to life at the Emirates, but appears to now be hitting his stride, and the 24-year-old has now scored in back-to-back games for the first time since joining the Gunners

Havertz scored Arsenal’s opener as they recorded their joint-biggest win under Arteta against RC Lens in the Champions League – but the Spanish boss has been told that the German is not being played in his right position.

Speaking after the game, he told Sky Sports: “Havertz is a confidence player and he’s playing with confidence right now.

“I thought he was the best player on the pitch. He was elegant, he picked the right passes and made the right decisions. He’s a top player. I don’t think he’s playing in the right position but he’s still a top player.”

“I don’t think he’s a midfield player I think he’s a centre forward.

“He’s 6ft 4in, maybe he’s a No.10. What he did do and they did well ARSENAL they got the ball in the box and he got in the box. He’s a big lad I hope he does well I think he’s a special player and he’s struggling.”

“He is scoring goals, playing well, participating in wins; those are positive attributes,” Arteta said in his post-match press conference.

“You’ve seen the reception of his team-mates, the crowd singing his name and being with him in every positive action that he had, those are all good things that are going to help him to show why he’s a tremendous player.

It has been claimed that Arsenal target Ivan Toney has made a decision about who he would like to join next.

Toney is one of the most talked about players in the Premier League and a man that both Chelsea and ARSENAL have been linked with over the past few months, as both are in need of adding another striker to that Attack.

With Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah not fully meeting Arsenal’s goal-scoring needs, Toney is viewed as a player who can come in and add those 25 goals a season that the club needs.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Toney is set to decide on his future upon his return, and he reportedly prefers a move to Arsenal over Chelsea to continue his career.

It comes after Journalist Dean Jones revealed to Give Me Sport that the player would probably pick Arsenal as his preferred destination if given a choice between the two London clubs.

Jones said: “Chelsea have got Nicolas Jackson, who is an out-and-out nine, he’s just not scored enough goals so far this season. And they’ve got Christopher Nkunku coming back in and they’ve got a lot of other forward players who can play in and around that position.

‘We don’t even know what Chelsea’s level is or what it’s going to be in the next couple of years.

“But at Arsenal, it’s more established now in terms of what their vision is. They’re going to be in the Champions League next season, they’re going to be challenging for the Premier League title and they’ve got Eddie Nketiah, but he is not really on that Toney level.

‘And I think that’s why if you gave him a straight choice, that was about football, I think he would probably go for Arsenal.”
