Danny Jansen hit a game-tying, two-run home run in the ninth, Nathan Lukes doubled home the go-ahead run in the 10th and the visiting Toronto Blue Jays edged the Detroit Tigers 4-3 on Sunday afternoon

Matt Chapman reached base three times and scored two runs for Toronto, which was no-hit by Detroit on Saturday. Jansen’s homer came off Alex Lange, who finished off the Tigers‘ combined no-hitter

Yimi Garcia (3-3) pitched an inning of scoreless relief for the win. Jordan Romano set down all three batters he faced for his 26th save.

In the 10th, Toronto automatic runner Alejandro Kirk was thrown out at third on Daulton Varsho’s fielder’s choice. Lukes then smacked an opposite-field double off Jose Cisnero (2-2) and Varsho came around to score.

Riley Greene had two hits, a run and an RBI for Detroit. Tigers starter Tarik Skubal, making his second appearance this season, tossed four scoreless innings with two hits and five strikeouts

The Tigers scored a run in the second. Javier Baez and Akil Baddoo singled to put runners on the corners. Miguel Cabrera brought in Baez with a single

Andy Ibanez grounded out to advance Cabrera to second. Toronto starter Chris Bassitt escaped further damage by striking out Eric Haase and retiring Zach McKinstry on a popout.

Greene made it 2-0 in the third when he blasted a 3-2 pitch, the 10th of the at-bat, over the right-center field fence.

Bassitt came out after giving up three consecutive hits in the fifth — singles by McKinstry, Greene and Spencer Torkelson — for a 3-0 lead. Detroit failed to get any more runs in the inning as Trevor Richards set down the next three batters.

Bassitt allowed three runs on nine hits over four-plus innings, striking out four without a walk.

Chapman led off the seventh against Reese Olson with a triple off the center field wall. Jansen fouled out before Chapman scored on Kirk’s grounder.

Detroit reliever Chasen Shreve held the two-run lead in the eighth with the aid of a double play.

Lange struck out Bo Bichette on three pitches in the top of the ninth. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. grounded out before Chapman walked. Jansen then ripped a 1-0 pitch over the left field wall to tie the game.
