Arsenal make offer to sign Ajax star Jurrien Timber

0

ARSENAL have launched a £30m opening offer to sign Ajax defender Jurrien Timber, according to reports.

Timber is a man that has been linked with a move to the Premier League for the last 12 months – with suggestions that Newcastle and Liverpool are ready to battle Manchester United for his services.

Timber was a massive part of that Ajax side last season and it is believed that a few of £40 million would be enough to get a transfer deal done.

Now – it has been claimed that Arsenal are the first club to make a move for the player and make an opening bid for the Dutchman.

However – The Dutch club want £50m to part ways with the 22-year-old, but there is ‘optimism that a compromise can be reached’, report The Athletic.

Amid all the speculation – he has suggested that he may be leaving the Dutch giants this summer transfer window.

He recently told Vandaag Inside: “Will I stay with Ajax anyway? I’m not sure, I can’t say that. I’m not in talks with Ajax now.

‘My agent had a good talk a few times, but it’s not like we’re talking about anything right now.”

There is no doubt that ARSENAL  need to add a couple of new players to the side as what they have got right now simply will not challenge Manchester City for that Premier Legau title.

Timber has proven himself to be a very top player that would add some more depth to the squad – so if he was signed – he would be a very good addition to that Gunners side.

That is the Arsenal board can get him for the right price.
