Lukaku is pushing hard to leave Chelsea this summer

Romelu Lukaku is pushing hard for a Chelsea exit this summer window and does not want to return to the club.

His time in Italy was not perfect as injuries played a part, but he still managed to net 14 goals for the Italians and help them reach that Champions League final – where they lost to Man City.

It is widely believed that he does not want to make a move back to the club – that he would prefer to stay in Italy – and the Italians are reportedly in talks over another deal with the Blues.

WHAT IS THE LASTEST –

with Chelsea players expected back in training this week, Lukaku wants his future resolved sooner rather than later.

The striker does not want to return to the club’s Cobham training ground after Mauricio Pochettino said he expected him to turn up on Thursday.

There are already reports that Chelsea are willing to accept bids of £40million for Lukaku, a steep decrease on the £97m they forked out just two years ago.

Sky Sports’ Paul Gilmour has recently claimed that Lukaku is ready to take a pacy-cut in order to get a move: “As of today, there is still no agreement between Chelsea and Inter Milan for any potential permanent move for Romelu Lukaku. CHELSEA are not interested in another loan.

“We have learned that Lukaku is willing to take a pay cut worth almost £1m per year to get this move to Inter.

There has been interest from Saudi Arabia and Juventus have held talks with Chelsea, but Lukaku prefers to stay at Inter and that will be a sign of willingness on his part, a compromise as such.

“The reason this week is so key is that Mauricio Pochettino has said that if Lukaku is still a Chelsea player when the international players are due to return, he would like to meet Lukaku in London.

“It is thought this is all linked to raising some money. At the moment, Inter feel they can pull an offer together worth £35m, which is nowhere near what Chelsea’s valuation is. There hasn’t been a satisfactory offer.”
