Here is a roundup of the top West Ham news and gossip from icfootballnews that we think you guys may have missed today –

John Hartson thinks Declan Rice is ‘the one’ that will stop Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal from collapsing in the Premier League title race this season.

Rice was the talk of the transfer window at the beginning of the summer – as nobody could predict who he would go too and how much money West Ham would accept.

However – despite the interest from the likes of Man City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, it was ARSENAL that Declan Rice made the move too in hope that he could help the Gunners win some silverware.

And in his first few weeks as a Gunners – he has done that after Arsenal shocked Man City in the Community Shield and picked up another trophy to add to that Gunners cabinet.

Now – after seeing the midfielder’s performance against Nottingham Forest at the weekend – Hartson has opened up and claimed that Rice will be one of the big reasons why Arsenal will collapse this season.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

“Nothing will phase him,” said Hartson. “He looks calm. He looks ready for the challenge and is excited to be at Arsenal by having the responsibility of being at the club.

“They came so close last season. They were at the top of the league for months and months and months. Just fell away at the end.

“He will be the one to be that player ‘right, we aren’t doing that this year’. I think he will embrace the challenge.”

WILL ARSENAL WIN THE TITLE?

There is a lot of hype surrounding this Arsenal side and this is one of the first times that Man City are not the clear favorites to win that Premier League title – the Gunners now have the squad and manager to win the League.

Man City will win a lot of games, so ARSENAL need to make sure that they are able to keep up the levels of last season, and if they do that, with Rice, the title will surely be there’s.

ANSU FATI WANTED –

ARSENAL transfer target Ansu Fati is reportedly the subject of a €50 million bid from an unnamed Premier League club amid Barcelona exit links.

A hot prospect that made his senior debut for Barca in August 2019, is another product of the famed La Masia academy system that is tipped to go on and become one of the best attackers in world football

Fati has fully established himself as a first-team member of the squad – despite the fact he has been plagued by injuries since bursting onto the scene at the Camp Nou

ARSENAL are always on the lookout for the next big thing and are very much interested in signing Fati should he fail to agree a new contract – or get the game time that he wants under Xavi

WHAT IS THE LATEST –

Fati has been linked with a summer exit from Barcelona as the Spanish club are understood to be short on funds. Now, Sport claims the Catalan outfit is set to receive a bid of €50m(£43.1m/$54.8m) from an unnamed Premier League side.

IcFootballnews View..

There are certain players that Barcelona will allow to leave the club and there are certain players that they will not, Fati is a lad that they have big plans for so he is going nowhere.

But if he was going to join anybody – the Emirates would be a great move to make as he would get alot more game time to develop under the guidance of Mikel Arteta

There is still plenty of time for ARSENAL to finish off their impressive summer of spending – but they need to focus on players that they can realistically get because Fati is going nowhere, despite all the latest speculation.

KUDUS CLAIM MADE –

Ajax boss Maurice Steijn has revealed Mohammed Kudus is NOT on the verge of a Premier League move to Arsenal.

ARSENAL have already been busy in the transfer market this summer, sealing the £105m arrival of midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham, who became their third new arrival after the £40m capture of defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax and the £65m signing of attacker Kai Havertz from Chelsea.

But the transfer window is not yet closed and Mikel Arteta has already dropped a hint that there could be some more faces making the move to the Emirates over the next couple of weeks.

And that has led to a few reports in the media which have claimed that Mohammed Kudus is a man that Arteta is now looking to bring into the club in a deal that would cost the Gunners around £40 million.

The 22-year-old Ghana international is comfortable as a conventional central midfielder, playing more advanced or even on the right wing and his versatility has made him an attractive option to the club’s recruitment staff.

Now, amid all the speculation – The Ajax boss has responded to the many reports in the media that Kudus could leave the club.

WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –

“I have read a lot of reports about Kudus this week but there is literally nothing right now that points to him leaving,” Steijn said, as reported by Fabrizio Romano.

“I spoke to him this week and he is fully focused on Ajax.

“He is a jewel for Ajax.”

Dutch legend Marco van Basten recently claimed that Kudus is “much better” than Manchester United star Antony, he said: “I find Mohammed Kudus a much better football player than Antony.

“Antony has his skills, but he is confused with the things he is trying to do! Kudus has much better technique and he knows what he is doing.

“Antony may be faster, but Kudus is smarter and more technical. He is much more of a footballer, you can place him anywhere on the pitch, an all-rounder for the team.

“In fact, I like him much better than Antony. He’s more fun to watch play.”
